Newegg Xbox One Deal is The Best We’ll See for Months

Published

Microsoft is just days from wrapping up the holiday promotion that slashed $50 off every Xbox One and made its console even cheaper than Sony’s PS4. Newegg, an online retail website, isn’t letting that promotional pricing pass peacefully. In fact, its Xbox One deal is so good, any family that likes to game but doesn’t yet have an Xbox One would be insane not to take advantage of it.

Microsoft announced that it was ending its holiday promotional pricing on January 3rd, earlier this week. Newegg is taking advantage of the savings while it’s still around with an Xbox One deal that gets users an Xbox One without a Kinect 2 sensor for $349.

What makes this Xbox One deal worth getting excited about are the extras. Newegg shoppers who take advantage of this Xbox One deal get a free Xbox One controller. These wireless controllers aren’t some throwaway add-on, it’s the Microsoft-made Xbox One Wireless Controller that normally retails for $60 – the cost of a single game. To date, there aren’t any other wireless controllers for the Xbox One, making Microsoft’s a must-have for any family.

This Xbox One deal also includes a year-long subscription to Microsoft’s Xbox Live gaming service. Xbox Live Gold users get exclusive access to demos, the ability to play online with other people, unlimited use of the Xbox Fitness app and weekly discounts on different games in the Xbox One and Xbox 360 stores.

Early adopters didn’t see any Xbox One deals like these. When the console launched it included the bare minimum. For $499 every user received a single wireless controller, a Kinect 2 sensor, wired chat headset, a HDMI cable and a power cable. Those who take advantage of this Xbox One deal don’t get a Kinect 2 sensor. That’s a separate purchase for those who want motion gaming and television integration. The Xbox One included is this deal is the Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Unity Bundle. It doesn’t have a larger hard drive or a special paint job.

Instead, users get roughly $90 in free games with this Xbox One deal. A digital code in the box allows users to download this year’s Assassin’s Creed Unity free of charge. That game alone would cost $60 new at stores, like GameStop. Also included in the bundle is a digital code for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag. That game launched last year and still costs around $30 from retailers like GameStop new.

In short, those taking advantage of this Xbox One deal have absolutely everything they need in the near term. If there was one thing missing though, it’d be a game that supports local multiplayer. Neither Assassin’s Creed Unity nor Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag have that. Buyers might want to consider purchasing a game with the console that does support local two player.

With that holiday promotion set to end. This Xbox One deal is probably going to be the best savings potential buyers get for a while. Microsoft is rolling back the holiday promotion and focusing on the exclusive games and entertainment experiences that users can expect next year. Games exclusively available for the Xbox One today include Halo: The Master Chief Collection and Sunset Overdrive. In 2015 Xbox One owners can expect Halo 5: Guardians, Fable Legends and Quantum Break. By not making these games available on the Xbox 360, Microsoft is luring its own users into upgrading.

The company was able to sell more living room consoles than anyone else this past November because of the low holiday pricing and Xbox One deals like this. The true test will be whether it can hang on to that momentum when they’re gone.

Free shipping for this deal is available. Newegg says users can only purchase 3 of the bundles.
