There are three options to add more storage to the Galaxy S6, even though there is no Micro SD card. These Galaxy S6 storage options aren’t as portable as sticking a small Micro SD card into the Galaxy S5, but it is an easy way to carry added movies, photos and documents with you on the go.
For the last several years Samsung included a Micro SD card slot that let users add more storage after they purchased the phone, doubling or tripling the storage for $20 to $40.
With the Galaxy S6 release Samsung cut the Micro SD card and will instead offer three storage sizes including 32GB, 64GB and 128GB. So far there are no confirmations from U.S. carriers about the exact Galaxy S6 storage sizes they will offer or what it will cost to jump from the Galaxy S6 32GB to the Galaxy S6 64GB model. Apple charges a $100 premium for each jump in storage, which is very expensive compared to Micro SD cards.
Arguably the best option is to buy as much storage as you need when you get the phone, but you may want to save money up front or you may end up needing added storage later. If that is the case, here are three options to add more storage to the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge.
Galaxy S6 Flash Drive
The Galaxy S6 includes support for USB OTG, which means you can plug a USB drive into the charging port to use it as added storage. You can’t just plug a regular USB drive in because the connection is too big. You can buy a USB OTG cable to use with your regular USB drive, or you can buy the SanDisk Ultra 32GB USB 3.0 OTG Flash Drive With micro USB that connects right to the charging port on the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to add more storage.
This drive works with the Memory Zone app on Google Play to help you manage your storage on the USB drive and can simplify moving files between the Galaxy S6 and your computer. If you want to keep movies, photos and other important files on the flash drive you can save storage on your phone.

It isn’t intended to stay connected to your Galaxy S6 all day every day.
The SanDisk Ultra 32GB USB 3.0 OTG Flash Drive starts at $13.99 for 16GB, $19.99 for 32GB and $36 for 64GB.
WiFi Flash Drive
SanDisk also offers a WiFi flash drive that lets you connect several devices to, even when you don’t have internet access, to look at photos or stream HD movies. This is an excellent option for users who don’t want to plug something in to the Galaxy S6, but need more storage on the go.

The rechargeable battery lasts up to four hours on a single charge.
The SanDisk Connect Wireless Flash Drive starts at $49.99 for 16GB, $53.59 for 32GB and $69.99 for 64GB.
WiFi Media Drive
Another option to add storage to the Galaxy S6 without a Micro SD card slot is the SanDisk Connect Wireless Media Drive. This small box adds 32GB or 64GB of storage to the Galaxy S6 wirelessly. This works similar to the WiFi flash drive, but supports streaming to five devices simultaneously.

The larger size accommodates a bigger battery that SanDisk claims lasts up to 8 hours of streaming.
The SanDisk Connect Wireless Media Drive is $71.99 for 32GB and $110.14 for 64GB.
