Nokia’s IdeaProject to Spur App Innovation

Published

on

In Austin, Texas at the South by Southwest Interactive conference, Nokia has announced IdeaProject, which is an Internet portal that will help connect entrepreneurs, idea-generators, developers, and other partners to help spur innovation and creativity in the mobile space. The idea behind IdeaProject, like Nokia’s motto, is to connect people. If you’ve got a great idea for a app but don’t have the technical expertise, you can find potential partners through IdeaProject who can contribute and perhaps take your next-generation ‘Angry Birds’ hit to market.

IdeasProject is a web-based, innovation community where application ethusiasts (consumers, developers, anyone) can join, share and collaboratively create applications for mobile platforms. Participants can create or respond to innovation “challenges” and work together to solve the challenges. First launched in English, it will soon be in Spanish, Chinese, and Finnish.

Nokia is challenging creative thinkers to come up with an idea for “Apps That Change the World” where the winning app would get developed by Nokia for free distribution in the Ovi Store.
