Curious. A new service has been unveiled by Synchronica aimed at deterring mobile phone theft. Mobile Manager can be set up to remotely lock and wipe data from mobile phones as soon as the owner reports the loss. It can also turn on the scream feature which can only be turned off by removing the battery. (You can download the scream as an mp3 if you wish. Cover your ears though.)
Here’s where my curiosity comes in to play. I wonder how many folks actually turn off security efforts like this after the initial curiosity period. I remember trying the alarm that worked with the Toshiba M200’s accelerometer, but turning it off. Thoughts?
