Plastic Logic is going to introduce a version of an electronic newspaper today. The lightweight plastic screen is about the size of a sheet of paper. Still unnamed,it is using the same E Ink technology that the Sony eReader and the Amazon Kindle use on their devices. The size difference between the Kindle/e-Reader and this new device is apparently a key, as the larger screen size (2.5 times the Kindle) will allow for more newspaper like layouts. The device is about 1/3rd the thickness of the Kindle. The text can be continuously updated via a wireless link (no word yet on that part of the technology.)
According to this New York Times article, newspaper organizations, (most of which are hurting badly at this point in time) are anxiously watching this development.
Look for more info on this after the first of the year.
