The icon is small and really could just be an artist’s rendering of what they think an iPhone looks like when shrunk down to a 100 pixel wide size, but it could be a sneak peak at a low resolution version of the iPhone 5.
As you can see, the iCon image looks a bit different from you would expect the iPhone to look like, complete with an elongated home button like we have seen on early iPhone 5 mockups.
The icon also looks like it may have something closer to an edge to edge display like this mock up.
Am i reading too far into a super small icon? Perhaps, but if it was any company other than Apple I probably wouldn’t. After all, Steve Jobs once called Google Executive at home on a Sunday to complain about the shade of yellow in Google’s iPhone app icon.
