Reviews of Ugly Duckling Mobile Devices

Ok, maybe I’m being unfair calling the Amtek U560 UMPC and the WiBrain B1 ugly ducklings. But being honest, nothing about the form factors of these two devices excites me at all. Of course, looks aren’t everything and beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Both devices have their fans, and both offer some interesting usage scenarios, which is why I’m’ glad to see ctitanic’s mini capsule review of the WiBrain on Mobility Site, and chippy’s review of the Amtek U560.

That said, I think in the mobile, ultra-mobile, ultra-portable, call it what you will space, how a device looks does carry some weight in a potential buyer’s mind.
