Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Rumors Point to Flexible Display

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has been rumored to have an October release date and now it has been rumored to feature a flexible OLED display.

According to MK Business News, by way of AndroidGuys, the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will apparently be the first Samsung smartphone to feature Samsung’s flexible LED display.

The company has been rumored to be commercializing the technology for 2012 and it would appear that the Galaxy Note 2 could be the first device to utilize it.

The Galaxy Note 2 might feature a flexible display.

The publication also suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 will feature a 12 mega-pixel camera, we assume on the rear, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean – an operating system that Google is expected to announce next week at Google I/O, and a 5.4-inch display that again is said to be flexible.

Of course, this contradicts previous rumors that stated that the Galaxy Note 2 would feature a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display with 1680 X 1050 resolution. There was no mention of the flexible display previously.

The previous rumors pegged the Galaxy Note 2 as having 4G LTE connectivity, a 1.5 GB of RAM, dual-core 1.7 GHz or higher Exynos CPU, and the premium software suite to make use of Samsung’s S Pen digitizer.

It was also rumored to have an October release date, the same month that Samsung introduced the original Samsung Galaxy Note last year.

Since the Galaxy Note debuted, Samsung has shipped over 7 million units worldwide. The phablet is available on U.S. carrier AT&T in the U.S but it’s if the carrier will also pick up the second-generation successor.

Is this in order to be able to bend it to fit the shape of your pocket? Afterall, the screen is larger than the current Note which is barely small enough to pocket.
