Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Video Teases Ahead of Launch

Published

on

Samsung is set to unveil the Galaxy Note 2 at the start of IFA 2012 in Berlin, Germany at the end of August, but a new teaser for Samsung Mobile UNPACKED 2012 provides a quick look at the new Galaxy Note phone.

Despite leaked Galaxy Note 2 photos and renders, we don’t know a lot about the looks of the Galaxy Note 2.

The Galaxy Note 2 video comes direct from Samsung. The company normally teases new products ahead of the launch event, showing blurred, strategic glimpses in a video that highlights the focus on the event.

In the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 teaser video below, Wim Wenders, director of Wings of Desire, walks through Berlin talking about creativity while we catch a look at the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 S Pen silo and S Pen. The S-pen looks slightly different with a new grip near the base.

The video doesn’t directly reference the Galaxy Note 2, but it does show images of a Galaxy Note device and Samsung confirmed earlier this month that the new Galaxy Note 2 will launch at IFA.

Samsung doesn’t show off the design of the Galaxy Note 2 for more than a second, and even then it’s blurred.

Galaxy Note 2 Rumors

Samsung should announce the Galaxy Note 2 on August 29th at the Samsung Mobile UNPACKED 2012 event in Berlin as a kick off to the IFA event.

The Galaxy Note 2 will likely arrive with a larger 5.5-inch display, and may use flexible screen technology to accommodate a larger battery without the need for a thicker device. Benchmarks point to a 1280 x 720 resolution display.

In addition to the larger display, rumors suggest Samsung will pack a quad-core Exynos processor and 2GB of RAM.

Leaked Galaxy Note 2 benchmarks show Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and the Galaxy Note 10.1 launch doesn’t point in the right direction, but we hope Samsung is able to ship the Note 2 with the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, if only for the Project Butter speed enhancements. This new version of Android delivers noticeably faster operation, as shown in the video below.

We don’t know when Samsung plans the Galaxy Note 2 release date, and odds are the U.S. release will arrive late. AT&T is first in line for the Galaxy Note 2. While Verizon subscribers would love to see the Note 2 arrive, word is Verizon is planning to ship a Galaxy Note 2 competitor.
