Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Battery Pegged at Whopping 3,450 mAh

The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will include a massive battery that should help power the large smartphone through a busy workday or a long weekend according to a new leak.

A leaked photo showed a ridiculously large Galaxy Note 3 battery inside a prototype device, but the photo did not reveal the battery specs or rating which would let us know what to expect from the Note 3 in terms of long battery life.

The Galaxy Note 2 came with a massive battery that let users get through a day of heavy use or a weekend of light use, taking up a large part of the back of the device and even though we could see a thinner Galaxy Note 3 in September, it looks like it will feature a larger battery.

A leaked Samsung Galaxy Note 3 battery is huge.

This is said to be the Samsung Galaxy Note 3’s massive battery.

PhoneArena reports the Galaxy Note 3 battery will clock in at 3,450 mAh, according to an anonymous source. This would be a boost of over 10% from the Galaxy Note 2 and a larger battery than the fabled Droid RAZR MAXX HD which can easily last more than a day.

This large Galaxy Note 3 battery should help the Galaxy Note 3 last a full day even with a powerful processor and a battery sucking 5.7-inch 1080P HD display. High-resolution displays are often a major source of battery drain in smartphones.

In addition to the rumored huge battery, expect a variety of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 features that will deliver better overall battery life. Rumors point to two processors powering the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 and a Samsung Exynos Octa 5, both of which include special features that help deliver better battery life to the device.

The Snapdragon 800 Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could likely charge 75% faster than a typical smartphone and could use intelligent core switching to deliver longer battery life without asking users to give up power. Even the international Galaxy Note 3 which will likely run a Samsung Exynos Octa 5 processor should use the 3,450 mAh battery wisely thanks to smart core usage and other enhancements.

Samsung is planning a Galaxy Note 3 launch on September 4th at IFA 2013 in Germany, where we expect to see the Galaxy Note 3 design and software features as part of an extravagant show. We could see a Galaxy Note 3 release date by the end of September in Germany according to a well-placed source and the U.S. release could come soon after.
