Samsung has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S II will be hitting carriers in the United Kingdom on May 1st and it will be arriving with that 1.2GHz dual-core processor that it was rumored to be packing last week and it will also include Android 2.3.
This should come as good news to those who got worried when news broke that the Galaxy S II would be delayed in some parts of the world. Samsung however cleared that all up stating that the device wasn’t delayed but that it would be rolling out in a staggered fashion.
While Samsung confirmed that it would be out in April for folks in Korea, consumers in other parts of the world were left in the dark. That is until today when Samsung put out a nice little press release confirming the 1.2GHz dual-core CPU as well as the launch date for the UK.
Sadly, the press release doesn’t name any of the carriers that the Galaxy S II will be headed to only stating that it would be ‘available in the UK across all major networks and retailers. ‘ No pricing, obviously, was announced either.
The Samsung Galaxy S II features a 8.49mm design, a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 8 MP rear facing camera with 1080p video recording, a front facing camera, and it’s powered by that 1.2GHz dual-processor and Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
It’s unknown as to when it will arrive in the United States with evidence pointing to a release sometime in May.
