Those of you out there hoping to get a glimpse at the iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy S II getting destroyed for the sake of entertainment are in luck because SquareTrade has released a new drop test pitting Apple’s latest iPhone against Samsung’s iconic Android device. A little forewarning though, if you’re like me, this is going to make you cringe for a number of reasons.
The original iPhone 4 was never lauded as a durable device. In fact, one of the reasons I took a pass on it was because I had a number of friends who saw the glass on the front or back shattered when they dropped the phone.
And if you were thinking that something might have changed from the iPhone 4 to the iPhone 4S, you’re wrong. Same deal here folks. The iPhone 4S’ glass design takes a beating when dropped on the pavement while the Samsung Galaxy S II comes through unscathed.
So, if you’re looking for a beautifully made phone, both of these phones will suffice.
But if you’re looking for a beautifully made phone that can survive a three foot drop no problem, then you might want to think hard about picking up an iPhone 4S.
