Users looking to pick up a member of Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 family of tablets can do so from Samsung’s website starting this week.

Available versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 on sale at the site includes the Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 for $199.99, the Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 for $299.99 and the Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 for $399.99. The site doesn’t yet offer versions of any of these tablets that have mobile data connectivity included, however it’s likely that those devices will make appearances on their compatible mobile carriers over time.

The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 includes a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM for running the latest applications quickly.  The device also features two cameras, one 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat and taking self-portraits, and a 3.0 megapixel camera for capturing scenery and other things. While it includes 8 GB of onboard storage users can opt to add more using the built-in microSD Card slot. The device’s 7.0 inch touchscreen has a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels making it just fine for reading and watching standard definition video on the go.

The Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 gives uses a bit of a horsepower bump for the added $100 cost. This device not only includes a larger 8 inch screen with a resolution of 1280 x 800, but also an upgraded 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 1.5GB of RAM. The performance boost comes with the 16GB of onboard storage and an updated rear-facing 5 megapixel camera.

The Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 features 1GB of RAM, a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor with 16GB of onboard storage and the option to add more using a microSD card. Its 10.1 inch display has a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, making it great for watching high-definition videos while on the go. It includes the same front-facing 1.3 megapixel camera as the other tablets in the line, but has a 3.2 megapixel rear-facing camera.

In addition to picking up a member of the Galaxy Tab 3 family online at Samsung.com, users can also head to their local electronics retailers for the devices. A quick check using Samsung’s local store tool only returned two Best Buy locations with real stock of the devices on-hand in our immediate area. Both Wal-Mart and Sears showed no stock at all. That is likely to vary depending on location.

Though newly refreshed, it’s important to remember that the Galaxy Tab series is not, the same as Samsung’s Galaxy Note series of devices. Unlike the Tab 3 devices, the Note series also offers compatibility with Samsung’s S Pen stylus. With that stylus users can take hand written digital notes. Unfortunately, that’s not something the Galaxy Tab 3 devices can do.
