Samsung Omnia W brings 1.4 GHz CPU, NFC to Windows Phone Mango

SamFirmware, which has been a reliable source of pre-release Samsung products in the past, has tweeted that Samsung’s Windows Phone mango device, the Omnia W, will come with a 1.4 GHz processor as well as near field communications (NFC) support.

The processor would be a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm as Microsoft standardizes on Qualcomm processors for its mobile operating system currently.

In addition to the tweet revealing the processor and inclusion of NFC, the device is also said to have a 3.7-inch display, though it’s unclear if it will be a Super AMOLED Plus screen, along with 512 MB RAM and a 5-megapixel camera.

The Omnia W would be a successor to the Omnia 7 currently, and the device would run Microsoft’s next-generation Windows Phone 7 Mango OS.
