Screen Manipulation Through Gestures

Published

on

GesturescreeenRemember all those cool demos of OpenGL touch screen manipulation? Robert Scoble has recently posted a link to a video of some very interesting stuff from Microsoft Research. (Guess you take the boy out of Microsoft, but not sure you can take the Microsoft out of the boy.) One of the interesting items shows some clever screen manipulation using gestures. Imagine moving, resizing, etc… what’s on your desktop without having to touch the screen. Andy Wilson demos the software and it looks fascinating. Is a gesture interface the next big thing? I can sure see it being helpful in a number of scenarios.  Here’s a link to the original video and here’s a link to a YouTube snippet that contains just the gesture demo. (Much shorter.)
