Scrooged: Apple Cancels Christmas

The Apple orchard is reeling. News today that Steve Jobs won’t be doing the keynote at MacWorld in a few weeks is upsetting a lot of the faithful, but that’s not all. In addition, Apple has announced that this will be their last appearance at Macworld as well. And as if that wasn’t enough, Apple announced one more thing: Apple has decided this is the last year for Christmas.

CUPERTINO, California—December 16, 2008—Apple ® today announced that this is the last year for Christmas. Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, spoke at a joint press conference held with Santa Claus at the North Pole this morning. He announced: "Apple has been honored to work with the North Pole the last several years to make Christmas possible, however, we have decided together that this is the last year for Christmas."

Check it out here.

Geez guys, just trying to offer up some humor. Don’t tell me tableteers and PC geeks don’t have a sense of humor anymore.

Apparently not… I chuckled quite a bit though.

As much as I dislike Apple, it is pretty disappointing that the last keynote may not come from Jobs.

What annoys me is that people tell their children that it’s wrong to tell lies and then they tell those same children that Santa Claus is real knowing full well that it’s A LIE! This is why I never trusted grown ups.

What? Santa Claus is a lie?!?! Then who’s that old liquored-up fat guy who breaks into my house every year? Damn it, I knew Santa was supposed to bring presents instead of taking them! I’m staying up and kicking that guy’s ass this year. Thanks, John in Norway!

Next Steve is going to cancel the Super Bowl. He did create it didn’t he, right along with Christmas?

Does he have kids? If so, I’m sure they only get Apple products for Christmas any way, so might as well cancel it.

I’m a liquored-up fat guy! So, you’re the one that leaves lousy presents lying around for me trip over. All I want is the brandy and mince pie you’re supposed to leave out. Thanks alot Sumocat!
