Om Malik is relaying a tip he’s gotten from a “very reliable” source that says we may see a Skype App for the iPhone as early as next week. The timing makes sense as the CTIA convention hits Las Vegas next week. But then we’ve heard about various apps coming for some time now that haven’t appeared yet. I’m guessing some of those won’t debut until the next edition of the iPhone sotware rolls out.
It isn’t like you can’t get Skype-like now, with apps like TruPhone and Nimbuzz on your iPhone, that offer Skype support. But I would agree with Om, that if a client did become available it would probably have a lot of users downloading it and putting it to use. That won’t make the AT&T folks happy though.
