The Speck CandyShell Card Case is one of the best iPhone 6 wallet case options out there, and it is an essential iPhone 6 accessory even with Apple Pay turning the new iPhone into a mobile wallet.
This $40 iPhone 6 wallet case comes in black, blue and pink options and as well as offering space for cards and cash it does a good job of protecting the iPhone 6 from small drops and keeps it safe in your pocket as well.
Without a case the iPhone 6 is thin and slippery, and with the Speck iPhone 6 case on, it’s easier to hold without a lot of added bulk. It certainly is thicker than a naked iPhone 6, but thanks to the thin body the total package isn’t too much to put in your front pocket.
Speck is one of the most well-known case makers and their iPhone 6 wallet case isn’t a brand new design. That’s a good thing as the company stuck with an easy to use slot on the back that allows the user to push cards out with a thumb and a small internal rubber part that keeps them in place the rest of the time.
At first glance you might worry about the cards slipping out when you are using the iPhone 6, but that’s not an issue at all. I normally carry three cards in the back, but when I need one more I can easily fit the a fourth in. If you need cash you can stick a bill or two between the cards. Four cards and cash is pushing it, so you’ll want to stick with three cards and some cash for most use.
When Apple Pay arrives in October it will be easier to slim down the number of cards I carry. Apple Pay uses NFC inside the iPhone 6 and Passbook to let users make payments with any of their credit or debit cards and Touch ID. You don’t need to carry the card with you, but you’ll still need ID in some cases. Another factor to consider is not many stores accept mobile payments yet, which is another pain point and a reason to buy an iPhone 6 wallet case like this.
There is a lip on the front edge that keeps the iPhone 6 screen off a table or the counter when you inevitably sit this case down after taking your card out. This helps prevent scratches on the iPhone 6 screen and adds some added drop protection.
It is easy to put the Speck CandyShell on and to take it off thanks to the easy to move rubber grip and interior cushion. You don’t need to do this often, but I prefer to take this case off at home in favor of a super-slim iPhone 6 case.
The only real downside to this iPhone 6 wallet case is the shiny black finish collects fingerprints and scratches. The photo above shows the scuffs and wear after a week of use. This doesn’t impact the ability to use the case by any means, but it would be nice if the finish stood up to more abuse.
Speck lines the inner part of the case with a shock absorbing lining, that also covers the volume and power buttons. There is an opening for the mute switch and for charging. You’ll have no trouble using the buttons or charging, even with thicker lightning cables thanks to a wide opening at the bottom.

CM4 Q Card Case for iPhone 6
The Q-Card case shown above (and below) is probably our favorite iPhone 6 wallet case for a few reasons. For one, we've used them in the past on the iPhone 5, Galaxy S4, and personally on my Galaxy S5, and they're excellent cases. It isn’t a flip case like almost everything else available. We’re not fans of holding a flap open to use and enjoy our device, which makes the CM4 an attractive offer out of the gate. Secondly it’s made of a durable lightweight plastic that protects the screen and camera, but then finished off with premium leather for the wallet aspect of the case.
The patented soft-touch rubber design is comfortable and easy to hold, not to mention it wraps around the camera for added protection, and extends beyond the display to protect your big screen while face-down. It’s an awesome design that can hold 3 credit cards plus some cash. It comes in black, champagne, or pacific green.
