The Speck CandyShell Inked iPhone 6 Plus case is a colorful, protective case that doesn’t add much bulk to the iPhone 6 Plus, but does offer attractive design options that stand out in a sea of one-color and two-color case options.
Speck designs some of our favorite iPhone cases, and the CandyShell Inked iPhone 6 Plus case is no exception. The bright SuperNova pattern wraps around the edge of the iPhone 6 Plus case with a wide array of colors and a heavenly expanse to stare at when you aren’t using the iPhone 6 Plus.
This iPhone 6 Plus case is $44.95 direct from Speck with a one-year warranty and free shipping. Many glossy cases scratch easily and show scratches ion the light, but after a week of heavy use and several attempts to scratch the glossy back, the case still looks great.
The inside of this case is similar to the normal Speck CandyShell iPhone cases, with a textured inside that will not scratch the iPhone 6 Plus. The small dots and rubber finish help absorb impact from any drops, without the need to slap a huge case on your iPhone 6 Plus.
All of the ports are easy to access with the CandyShell Inked iPhone 6 Plus case installed and even L-shaped headphones plugged in without a problem. Even bulkier Lightning cables should slide in easily thanks to an oversized opening and there is nothing to get in the way of the speakers.
Speck covers the volume buttons in the same rubber material as the inside of the case so they are easy to press. Same goes for the power button on the other side of the iPhone 6 Plus. There is an opening to reach the mute switch on the left side of the iPhone 6 Plus. It is the perfect width to fit a finger in to toggle the setting without leaving enough room to accidentally toggle this on and off.
With the iPhone inside, the CandyShell Inked iPhone 6 Plus case adds a small lip to the front of the iPhone 6 Plus. You can’t slide your finger off the edge of the display along the curved edge anymore, but the lip keeps the screen off a rough surface when you set it face-down and it provides better protection from drops.
This does not provides as much grip as the CandyShell Grip iPhone 6 Plus case does, but it is still much easier to hold the iPhone 6 Plus with the Inked case on it than when there is no case on the slippery iPhone. The glossy finish is much easier to grip than soft matte finishes, so it’s a welcome design choice.
Speck does a good job of preventing any part of the CandyShell Inked iPhone 6 Plus case from getting in the way of actually using the case.
The CandyShell Inked iPhone 6 Plus SuperNova design looks great and the vivid imagery is unlike what we see on most case options that stick to safer colors and designs. Anyone will love the space theme of this iPhone 6 Plus case, but the other CandyShell Inked designs are less likely to appeal to both men and women. The floral CandyShell Inked design is one that my sister immediately latched on to for the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 6. You can see the other CandyShell Inked iPhone 6 Plus case designs on Speck.

OtterBox iPhone 6 Plus Case
The OtterBox iPhone 6 Plus case adds significant protection to the new iPhone, but it is very large. You will need to commit to carrying this in a big pocket or go with the belt clip at times, but there is nor arguing about the protection that this case offers.
The OtterBox iPhone 6 Plus case uses three layers of protection to keep the iPhone safe and there is an included holster to protect the screen from drops and attach the phone to your belt. There is a built-in screen protector and you can choose from a variety of colors for your OtterBox case.
