Developers are now making it easy for users of previous-generation jailbroken iPhones to join in on the popular voice personal assistant Siri, a feature that has so far only been available to iPhone 4S owners. Jailbroken devices can now head on to the Cydia app store (jailbreak required) to download the Spire app developed by Chpwn.
Spire effectively brings Siri to the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch, and iPad.
The app will need to download 100 MB of data, some of which will come directly from Apple’s own servers.
That said, Spire will still require some information from an iPhone 4S to work. In order to do that, developers are setting up proxy servers to reroute some of that info to non-iPhone 4S devices to get in on the action.
