This afternoon Sprint announced its pricing and pre-order details and availability for its Galaxy S5, and users will be able to secure their own smartphone for $0 down. Just like T-Mobile, Sprint hopes to earn a few more subscribers by offering the latest flagship completely free, $0 down to pre-order, and the usual $199 price once released.
For consumers looking to get the Galaxy S5 from Sprint, you can pre-order your own starting today both in stores, and online. Once buyers qualify for the new smartphone, they’ll be able to confirm the device with $0 money down, but expect to pay 24 monthly payments of $27.09 until the device is paid in full.
Then of course users can also pre-order the phone online and prepare to sign a new 2-year contract, which will get you the phone for only $199 vs the $650 payment plan detailed above. As a reminder, the $199 price is after a $50 mail in rebate, sadly.
The Sprint Galaxy S5 will come in both black and white options, with the additional colors announced in February still MIA across all major carriers. As for the release date, it appears the Sprint Galaxy S5 release date will be April 11th.
Sprint confirmed the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo smartwatches will also be available on April 11th, as well as the Gear Fit smartband. Finally, for those who pre-order the Galaxy S5 with a new family plan easy pay through Sprint, you’ll get the option of a brand new Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (7-inch) free with a new 2-year data agreement.
More and more details are arriving, but it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be $199 on contract, or $649 outright and available from all major carriers come April 11th.
