Sprint To Cap 3G Usage at 5GB

SprintlogoWell, I guess this will make it easier for me to switch carriers this summer if all is at it seems to be. It looks like Sprint is going to do away with “unlimited” data plans an impose a 5GB cap. The change to the service agreements will take effect for Sprint customers on July 31st.

There is still some confusion as to if this will apply to all data plans or just Phone as Modem and Data Card plans. In any case, it will come as quite a shocker to Sprint users (like myself). Of course this sort of change to the terms of service gives you an out when it comes to cancelling a contract, so that you don’t have to pay for early termination.

For the life of me, I can’t imagine a company that is hemoraghing from lost users like Sprint wanting to increase the exodus this way.
