Straight Talk AT&T SIMs Now Support LTE

Just in time for the iPhone 5s, Straight Talk now supports LTE on the AT&T SIM cards which sell for $7 online and can be cut down to fit the iPhone 5s’ nano-SIM card slot.

Straight Talk AT&T SIM cards returned in August, ahead of the iPhone 5s release after a long absence and now Straight Talk offers support for AT&T 4G LTE on compatible devices like the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and many Android smartphones.

This is the first time we’ve seen Straight Talk 4G LTE service, and it remains one of a few pre-paid 4G LTE options with nationwide coverage and the ability to bring any AT&T phone even if it is not unlocked.

Frugal phone user can pay $45 a month and use Straight Talk 4G LTE on AT&T's network with the iPhone 5s, iPhone 5 and popular Android devices.

And thanks to tests, it should even allow a Verizon iPhone 5 or Verizon iPhone 5s to work on Straight Talk and connect to AT&T 4G LTE for speedy pre-paid downloads.

There is still no word on a Straight Talk iPhone 5s sold through Walmart with the Straight Talk name. When asked about a Straight Talk iPhone 5s, Walmart told Gotta Be Mobile it had nothing to report at this time. The Straight Talk iPhone 5 came months after the official release so we may not see this specific version until 2014, but that doesn’t mean users need to compromise.

Right now users can buy an unlocked iPhone 5s from AT&T or Apple, or a Verizon iPhone 5s and buy an AT&T Micro SIM with 4G LTE support from Straight Talk for $7 and be up and running pretty quickly.

Users will need a SIM card cutter tool to quickly and reliably trim a Straight Talk AT&T Micro SIM card down to the nano-SIM size used by the iPhone 5s. A nano-SIM card cutter like this $3 version on Amazon can punch out a nano-SIM without the hassles of using a knife to perfectly cut the SIM to fit.

While the Straight Talk AT&T Sim card promises unlimited data, Straight talk is known for limiting data use once users top over 2.5GB, so while AT&T LTE is an awesome deal at $45 a month, those who consume a lot of data run the risk of being cut off without notice. Users can deal with this limit by using WiFi when possible and using the new data tracking and data control features in iOS 7.

Buyers can purchase the Straight Talk AT&T SIM card with LTE support for $6.99.

What if I already have a straighttalk sim card with AT&T from a year ago. Do I need a new one to turn on LTE? I just bought the ‘Unlocked’ 5s and still get 4G.

Do you have to buy the new AT&T sim to get the LTE service. If you are able to use your old AT&T straight talk sim, what would the settings be on IOS 7 for a Iphone 5.

Iphone 5s come factory unlocked, so you basically can use them on any network you want, I have a verizon iPhone 5s working on att go phone prepaid plan, everything works normal, don’t let people try to get you to waste your money making you think you are buying an unlocked phone, the only thing you might be getting is contract free phone, nothing else.
