Often times when I use the word ‘soon’, I have to mention that ‘soon’ in carrier and manufacturer speak doesn’t mean the same thing as it does in normal tongues. And that’s why it’s so refreshing that I don’t have to waste precious words explaining that soon actually means soon when it comes to the T-Mobile G-Slate Android 3.1 Honeycomb roll out from LG.
LG has confirmed that the tablet we thought had great hardware with so-so software will be getting an upgrade either today, August 8th, or tomorrow August 9th, in the form of one of the newest versions of Honeycomb. Not the newest, that goes to Android 3.2, but one of the newest. That being said, it’s our hope that the software irons out some of the bugs that the G-Slate has, in fact the confirmation of this roll out came in reply to bug complaints, and brings the software up to speed with the hardware.
So, if you own one of these, make sure you take a peek later on today to see if you have some Android 3.1 goodness waiting for you. Otherwise, it looks tomorrow will likely be the day that you see the new software.
