We recommend taking a look at Apple's smaller iPad mini before buying the iPad mini 2. Yes, it's $100 more but there is value there, even if it doesn't make itself known right away. Apple's iPad mini 3 is similar to last year's iPad mini 2. It comes with a gold color and Touch ID but other than that, it's essentially the same device. There is, however, one thing to keep in mind. The iPad mini 2 is a year older which means it won't get the same kind of support. Apple tends to keep iPads around for three to four years before kicking them to the curb. In other words, the extra $100 could get you another year of iOS support. This makes the iPad mini 3 worth considering. We won't blame you if you walk out with an iPad mini 2 but do yourself a favor and rule out the current-gen model before you do. | ||||||
