The device you see in the picture is not the LG G3 but the LG G2, last year's LG flagship and a device that remains on shelves in the U.S. and elsewhere. The LG G2 won't be on shelves for long though as an LG G3 launch is expected later on this month.
The LG G2 was one of the pleasant surprises of 2013 and it really brought LG back into relevance in the United States where HTC and Samsung have dominated the Android landscape. The LG G2 was one of the best smartphones of the year and it's still a fantastic option. However if you can wait, wait, because LG is poised to deliver a high octane sequel.
In just a few short weeks, the LG G3 will launch and take the place of the LG G2. Rumors suggest that it will come with a number of upgrades including changes to the display, processor, camera, and more.
We haven't been hands on with it yet but at this point, given LG's success with the G2 and the features that are all but confirmed, we think it's a device that potential Galaxy S5 buyers would be wise to wait on, especially since it should arrive in just a few weeks.
