The Uncharted 4 release date is still a few months away but PS4 owners will get their first crack at the game soon thanks to the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta. With a release just around the corner, we want to take a look at the important things to know about the Uncharted 4 beta release date.
Earlier this year, Naughty Dog confirmed plans to bring PS4 owners an Uncharted 4 beta ahead of the game’s release date in late March. The Uncharted 4 release date is confirmed for March 18th on PlayStation 4. That day is finally here.
The highly anticipated Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta is upon us and it will become available for select PS4 owners in the very near future. With the Uncharted 4 beta set to begin in just a few short hours, we want to run down the most important things PS4 owners need to know about it.
What is the Uncharted 4 Beta?
The Uncharted 4 beta isn’t the full game for PS4. Instead, it’s an early version of the multiplayer mode that will accompany the single player campaign.
During a live stream, Naughty Dog outlined some of the things PS4 users can expect from the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta.
According to the developer, the beta will launch with a couple of maps and one game mode. In other words, it’s going to be very limited. The time limit for each match is going to be 12 minutes and the kill limit will be 35.
The company also confirmed that you will not be able to carry your character over to the final version of the game.
How to Get the Uncharted 4 Beta
As of right now, the only way to get access to the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta is with a code that comes with the Nathan Drake Collection for PS4.
The Nathan Drake Collection is a bundle that comes with remastered versions of Uncharted 1, Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3.
Tucked away inside the box is a card that features instructions that show you how to obtain the Uncharted 4 beta once it arrives.
To get it, you’ll need to insert the Nathan Drake Collection disc into the PS4, highlight the game icon, select Overview, and then select the option that allows you to download the Uncharted 4 beta to your PlayStation 4.
We wouldn’t be surprised if Naughty Dog opened it up to everyone at some point but that point remains unconfirmed.
Uncharted 4 Beta Size
If you’re running out of space on your PS4, note that Naughty Dog recently confirmed the size of the Uncharted 4 beta.
The Uncharted 4 beta file size is rather large, 7GB large, which means you might need to clear up some space ahead of the release date.
It’s also worth noting that the file size will depend on region though we expect it to be in and around 7GB for everyone.
There is no pre-load.
Uncharted 4 Beta Release Date
The Uncharted 4 beta was originally supposed to start on December 4th but it looks like Naughty Dog and Sony will release it early.
The Uncharted 4 beta release date appears to be set for December 3rd instead of December 4th. A day earlier than expected.
It’s important to note that Naughty Dog will be updating the beta throughout the beta process. So the game will likely be a little different by the time it ends.
Uncharted 4 Beta Release Time
The Uncharted 4 beta release time is confirmed for December 3rd starting at 12PM Eastern or 5PM GMT.
The developer says that it will be pushed to different regions throughout the day. It’s not clear who will be first and who will be last so you’ll need to keep your eyes peeled on December 3rd and maybe even December 4th.
The U.S. beta will likely start Friday. We’ll update this post when we know for sure.
How Long Does the Uncharted 4 Beta Last?
The Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta is scheduled to last until December 13th though it’s possible that we’ll get an extension. Stay tuned.
