Today, after weeks of rumors and speculation following months of silence from the carrier, the Verizon Nexus 6 release date has been officially announced and confirmed. Tomorrow, March 12th, Verizon will finally launch Google’s latest flagship 5.96-inch Nexus 6 smartphone running the absolute latest Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Back in October Google confirmed its brand new smartphone was headed to all major US carriers, including Verizon Wireless. It was set to be the first Nexus smartphone offered by Verizon in years. November came and all carriers released the phone, except Verizon. Now, months later, it’s finally here but has a few extra surprises on board.

As of today the Nexus 6 is available from Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile and US Cellular, with the biggest carrier in the U.S. holding out. Both Verizon and Google have been completely silent regarding the release, but a few rumors the past month have confirmed Verizon would offer it soon. Today though, they finally broke the silence and confirmed all the details.

Nexus6-10

Earlier this month we received our first break, with Verizon adding the Nexus 6 to its website, saying it’s coming soon. The release date was initially rumored for late February and even confirmed by some advertising material, but that never happened. However, today Verizon made it official by posting it to their online announcements website, and posting to Twitter.

The Verizon Nexus 6 will be available online starting tomorrow March 12th, and will be in all retail channels around the United States next week.

Verizon starts off their announcement post with “To all Nexus fans, Thank you for your patience” and then goes on to talk about the impressive Nexus 6, all it has to offer, the fact that it will be one of the first devices running the latest and just announced Android 5.1 Lollipop, and much more.

Tomorrow which is March 12th the Nexus 6 will be available online for Verizon Wireless users, and next Thursday on March 19th it should be available in all retail stores. As expected, the smartphone will be $249.99 with new two-year activation or $27.08 per month for 24 months with Verizon Edge. Users can also buy it outright for a price that will likely be $649 for the 32GB model. At this time we can’t confirm whether or not Verizon will offer the 64GB Nexus 6.

Those who purchase the Verizon Nexus 6 before the end of March will get 6 months of Google Play Music All Access completely free, usually $9.99 per month, which was also confirmed in a leak earlier this week.

Verizon’s Nexus 6 will launch with the brand new and latest Android 5.1 Lollipop update, feature VoLTE and HD voice calling, as well as everything else we’ve been enjoying from the Nexus 6 and Android Lollipop for months. That being a 5.96-inch Quad-HD display, a 2.7 GHz quad-core processor with 3GB of RAM, a 13 megapixel camera, Turbo Charging, and a large 3,200 mAh battery for all day usage.

This has been a long time coming and many Verizon owners have opted for something else after months of waiting and silence from Verizon. That said, the Verizon Nexus 6 is finally here and will be available tomorrow. Are you buying on?
