Verizon is offering free calling and messaging to Japan for most of its customers through April 10. The move is an attempt to make it easier for friends and family to communicate with those affected by the earthquake and Japan. Verizon is partnering with non-profits to make it easy for Verizon Wireless customers to donate via SMS. The company is also providing Verizon FIOS TV customers free access to TV Japan through March 17. Verizon landline customers can also place free calls to Japan. Any charges that do hit your statement for calls placed to Japan will be refunded at your rquest.
Kudos to Verizon for stepping up and helping its customers in a time of need.
