I’m not sure that playing keys on a flat surface is an ideal interface for creating music, but then again, I’m not a piano player or musician. That said the Vivace Portable Music Studio looks like an interesting concept. Instead of a QWERTY keyboard, you’ve got a some multi-touch ivories to tickle.
The concept is the brain child of Young-Shin Lee and Hae-Jin Jung. It looks like your typical clamshell notebook (except for that keyboard) and it offers multi-function playback, recording and editing.
