Vonage goes Android
Looks like Vonage, the popular VOIP service has finally gone Android with its Vonage World Mobile offering. Vonage has been available for some time for iPhone/iPod Touch and Blackberry, but it took a while for it to come to Android.
The service, Vonage World Mobile, provides the ability to make unlimited international calls for $24.95 per month. This is in addition to users who already have Vonage Home. You have to be a Vonage Home user to be able to get Vonage World Mobile.
The mobile app, which is available for the iPhone, iPod Touch, Blackberry, and Android phones, enables you to dial calls directly from existing address book contacts, and your mobile phone number appears in the receiver’s caller ID.
The service works with Wi-Fi, and the new Android version supports phone calls on AT&T and T-Mobile’s 3G networks. The app is available in the Android Market right now, but only AT&T and T-Mobile users can see it.
