Waterfield Designs Nexus 7 Suede Jacket Review
In the search for the perfect minimal Nexus 7 case I am testing out the Waterfield Designs Nexus 7 Suede Jacket.
Unlike most cases which add bulk and, the Nexus 7 Suede Jacket is as thin a case as you’ll find. While it doesn’t offer a lot of protection it is a perfect companion for carrying the Nexus 7 in a pocket or around town.
The Nexus 7 Suede jacket is sized perfectly for the Nexus 7, and three small tabs of fabric on each closed edge make it easy to pull the sleeve off of the Nexus 7.
The suede jacket is made of, surprise, Ultra-suede which prevents scuffs and protects the screen from the clutter in my pockets or in my bag. The sleeve also doubles as a screen cleaner while on the go.
There is an optional pocket, though I like the minimal no pocket design of the sleeve I was sent for review. I will still turn to something with more protection if I am planning to take a trip, but for running around town or a daytrip the Nexus 7 Suede Jacket is a great accessory.
Ultimately I will still want a case that offers protection against drops, but for every day use this is a great fit. We’ll be reviewing the Nexus 7 Ultimate SleeveCase soon, which provides a padded pocket for the Nexus 7.

The suede material attracts lint, especially when I carry my Nexus 7 in my pocket, but it is fairly easy to brush off. The material and stitching hold even as I stress the case by pulling on opposite sides of the stitching, and previous WaterField Designs bags we have reviewed hold up well over time.
Waterfield Designs sells the Nexus 7 Suede Jacket for $19 or $25 with a pocket and shipping is $2.
