The Nexus 7 Ultimate SleeveCase from Waterfield is a new Nexus 7 case with plenty of padding and a small pocket on the back.
This case is not as slim as the Nexus 7 Suede Jacket which I recently reviewed, but it offers significantly more protection.
The Nexus 7 Ultimate SleeveCase offers a variety of options for finish and to add a shoulder strap. The model I am reviewing has the Lead Indium accent and no shoulder strap, which I think fits the small size of the case very well. A should strap on a case of this size would be too close to a small purse for me to use.
This Nexus 7 case is made of ballistic nylon which Waterfield Designs describes as “nearly indestructible.” While I can’t guarantee that this case will never show signs of wear, the Ultimate SleeveCase for the MacBook Air is made with the same material and has held up very well over time.
The front of the case is thick thanks to a significant amount of padding. While this increases the overall bulk of the case it’s a trade off worth making for the added protection. Inside the case is lined with a very soft material that prevents screen scratches and can help remove fingerprints if pressure is placed on the front while removing the Nexus 7.
On the back is a small pocket that doesn’t offer much room, but it will hold an iPhone 4S with a case on it or some business cards. It will not hold the Nexus 7 charger, but the USB cable will fit in the case. The bottom of the case has a small pull loop which makes it easy to fish out of a bag.
I like the overall build quality of the Ultimate SleeveCase for the Nexus 7. Though it isn’t the style of case I normally carry it is a nice Nexus 7 case option.
