With all the iPhone 5 leaks spilling a 17% larger screen, thinner display and giving us a glimpse at what the iPhone 5 might look like it might seem like we know everything to know about the iPhone 5.
We like to think that we know that the iPhone 5 has a 4-inch display, a faster quad-core processor, improved cameras and 4G LTE connectivity.
It looks like Apple will announce the iPhone 5 (and maybe the iPad Mini) on September 12th. And the iPhone 5 release date is pegged for September 21st.
There’s still plenty of iPhone 5 specs and features that remain unknown, and while leaks show fully assembled iPhone 5 devices, the design is still up in the air.
Apple’s product security is so good Samsung copied it to keep the Galaxy S III launch a secret, and it worked. The Galaxy S III looked nothing like the leaks. Apple may very well be allowing leaks of false parts.
This means that there’s plenty we don’t know about the iPhone. Many readers remain unimpressed with the look of the iPhone 5, which is essentially a taller, thinner iPhone 4S. Others really want NFC and the ability to use the iPhone 4S as a credit card. This is your chance to dream up the iPhone 5 you want. From the looks to the features, we want to know what you want out of the iPhone 5.
My personal iPhone 5 spec and feature wishlist is pretty close to the rumors.
- 4-inch Retina Display
- 4G LTE
- iPad 3rd Gen level graphics
- NFC for PassBook payments – or Google Wallet support!
- iPad to iPhone Connectivity for Calls
- 128GB of on board storage
I’m not disappointed with the leaked iPhone 5 design, but I wish Apple would round the edges like the Galaxy S III, or like the fake iPhone 5 pictured below.
While reviewing the Galaxy S III I became a big fan of the design. It’s a thin, light phone with great build quality and a large screen, but it doesn’t feel like a huge phone. If the Galaxy S III had a metal back and ran iOS 6, I’d be a happy iPhone 5 owner.
My dream phone might look like the mashup of the Galaxy S III and the iPhone 5 in the video above.
What’s Your Dream iPhone 5?
Assuming you could reach into Jonathan Ive’s dreams and insert the look, feel and features of the new iPhone, what would you pick for your must have features?
Do you want an iPhone 5 that costs $800 and features a holographic display?
Or would you rather be able to make payments, see a better camera or connectivity between your other iOS devices? Maybe you want Apple to keep the 3.5-inch display. Now’s your chance to tell the world about the perfect iPhone.
