Will Vista Upgrade For Holiday Computer Shoppers Be Free?
Here’s an interesting question. Todd Bishop of the Seattle PI wonders whether Vista upgrades for consumers purchasing a Windows Vista Capable computer this holiday season will be free. There’s been talk about this before, and it most likely would give retailers a chance to sell a few computers to scanning the vista for the new release. It raises some interesting points though. First, receiving a set of Vista discs would eliminate all of that CRAPWARE, that came pre-installed. Second, how would different OEMs handle the hardware specific driver issues and the support issues sure to follow?
So, here’s a question for you. Would a free Vista upgrade affect your purchase of a new machine at the end of the year?
