The Casio G’zOne Commando is a rugged Android smartphone available on Verizon Wireless. The G’zOne Commando is MILSPEC 810G rated for, among other things, water immersion.

We just received this new rugged smartphone in for review, and couldn’t wait to put it under water. In out initial Casio G’zOne Commando underwater test we just dropped it in a cup of tap water, but the Commando is rated to withstand 30 minutes underwater at a depth of 1m.

We have already had some fun with this phone, dropping it in a cup while out to eat to scare our guests, and are looking forward to winning a few free lunches by betting that our phone can take a call while underwater.

Stay tuned for our full review, but so far the Casio G’zOne Commando looks like a good choice for outdoor lovers, construction workers and police officers.
