BeBook Live Coming This Summer to Take On Nook Color

Published

on

BeBook will be launching its Android tablet called the BeBook Live this summer that will be targeted more towards e-readers rather than tablet users. As such, the BeBook Live hardware platform, which will run the Android 2.2 operating system, will more closely compete with the Barnes & Nook, which also runs Android 2.2 through the latest software update and has support for Adobe Flash and third-party apps, than tablets like the Xoom and other Android 3.0 devices. The Android 2.2-wielding BeBook Live will sport a 1 GHz Samsung processor, a 7-inch 800 X 600 touchscreen, front-facing camera, HDMI port, and micro SDHC card support all for about $280.

While the screen is lower in resolution than the gorgeous Nook Color’s display, the inclusion of a front-facing camera and HDMI port will help extend the BeBook Live to tablet users who demand more from their tablets beyond just e-reading.
