HTC to Release Android 4.0 Upgrade for Entire Sensation Line

Published

on

In addition to launching a white variant of the original HTC Sensation on March 1 with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box, it appears that HTC will be prepping its entire Sensation line for Ice Cream Sandwich, including the HTC Sensation XE and the HTC Sensation XL. The update will be delivered over-the-air and no specific date was given. Given that Android 4.0 is working out of the box and is shipping on March 1 on the white Sensation, the process should hopefully not drag on too long.

As the HTC Sensation is sold as the HTC Sensation 4G in the U.S. market under wireless carrier T-Mobile USA, the upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich for that model will likely have to go through T-Mobile for network testing.

Just days ago we had reported that the HTC Sensation XE will be getting an update to Android 4.0 in early 2012, so it looks like the dates are matching up and we should see Ice Cream Sandwich now for all three devices in the Sensation line.
