Google Maps for Android Updated with Check-Ins And Ratings for Places

Google has announced and released the latest and greatest version of Google Maps for Android bringing the software up to version 5.5. The new edition brings several new features including new check-in and rating buttons for Place pages.

The update intends to make it easier to check in at places, rate those places and to get directions telling you how to get to those places. Google has done this by adding check in and rate and review buttons to the places that show up in Google Maps.

Google Maps 5.5 for Android also brings some nice changes to the transit directions found within the software and now, each page now lists “upcoming scheduled departures for different lines, all the transit lines serving the station, and links to nearby transit stations.”

It also now allows you to change your Location within Google Latitude so that you can more accurately track the time that you spend.
