Samsung Galaxy S II Headed to Canada, U.S. Continues to Wait
Well, here is some news that is likely going to frustrate U.S. Android enthusiasts waiting diligently for the Samsung Galaxy S II. Several Canadian carriers have confirmed today that they will be carrying the Galaxy S II at some point in the future.
Canadian carriers Bell, SaskTel, and Virgin Mobile (Canadian edition) have all announced that they will be carrying Samsung’s latest and greatest smartphone with SaskTel claiming that it will be arriving in the “coming weeks” for $75 on a new three-year contract.
Bell hasn’t announced any specifics for the device as of yet but does have a landing page up where you can enter a drawing to win one of 10 devices that the carrier is giving away.
Virgin Mobile’s information is the murkiest as the carrier has merely announced the phone. All three of the carriers are calling this the Samsung Galaxy S II 4G so it’s possible that we might see that name crossover to the U.S. when the phone arrives.
Speaking of that, I’m going gray over here waiting for Samsung and U.S. carriers to make the announcement. It seems like every single other country now has this phone on tap and it’s getting maddening.
