Skype Brings Video Calling to The Nexus S 4G, Forgets Other Phones Need It Too

Yesterday was a glorious day if you happen to be an owner of a Google Nexus S, HTC Desire S, Sony Ericsson Xperia neo, or Sony Ericsson Xperia pro. Why? Because Skype released Skype 2.0 for Android which brought video calling to those four phones. Skype promised it would be bringing support for more phones and today it announced that it has brought video calling to Sprint’s Nexus S 4G.

In a quick little tweet, Skype confirmed that a hotfix has now made video calling compatible with the WiMax version of the Nexus S. So that brings support up to a grand total of five devices.

This could be a sign that Skype is going to be acting quickly to bring video calling to phones with front-facing cameras or it could mean absolutely nothing. In the meantime, there is a way to get Skype with video calling up and running on your Android device, even if  it’s not one of those listed.

If you head here, you will find a hacked version of Skype that apparently works on a number of devices including the Samsung Galaxy S and the HTC EVO 3D.
