T-Mobile G2x Gingerbread Update Now Available

Published

on

In some very good news for LG G2x owners on T-Mobile, the Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread update is now live and ready to be installed using LG’s Mobile Software Update which is an updater tool that is unfortunately only available for Windows.

LG G2x

So, here’s the deal. The update is 178MB in size and updates to GRI40. That means that it’s bringing Gingerbread folks. Now, before you install this, keep in mind that this will break root if you have done so on your G2x and judging by the amount of problems this thing has been having, it’s likely that many of you have so please keep that in mind before you download this.

It should, in theory, put an end to all of those issues that T-Mobile and LG have been having with this device so if you get around to downloading it, be sure to let us know how it works out. It might mean that T-Mobile is finally ready to put this thing back on the market. I doubt many of these would sell right now though.

If you’re interested in getting started (remember, you’ll need Windows), you can find LG’s Mobile Software update software available for download right here.

One day after the lawsuit is filed LG provides the update. Coincidence? I think not…

Might want to wait a week or two – it wouldn’t surprise me to find out that this gingerbread is only half-baked.

Try on put on the storage settings (when the android turns orange) that worked for me. I like the update quite responsive but I still have the wifi over network issue sucks really because I wanted that fixed.

Made my phone slower! Lags all the time now, and messed up my messaging program (hancent).. not sure if that’s an issue with the update, or hancent though…

This “update” sucks!!! I’m pissed ;( the only good that came out of it is that my phone might have calmed it’s random reboot or shut off that it did all of the time, still does it tho. It destroyed my front facing cameras quality to extreme measures, that’s a huge deal to someone like me who uses it daily. My battery dies a lot faster and I can’t pin point what’s doing it. My new keyboard sucks and is ugly. I want the update off of my phone and now!!! They only did it for the money not the people… again!
