Droid Bionic Release Date Confirmed for September 8th [Update]

The long and tumultuous wait for the Motorola Droid Bionic finally has an end date. The official Droid Bionic Twitter account announced that you will be able to purchase the Droid Bionic at your local Verizon store on September 8th.

Update: This is not an official account and has been called a rumor by Motorola and Verizon.

We have been hearing about September 8th as a possible Droid Bionic release date for some time, but this is the first official confirmation of one of the most anticipated 4G LTE devices to arrive on Verizon’s network.

This official announcement comes one the heels of many more leaks including Droid Bionic accessories, extended length videos and even an appearance on Motorola’s corporate website.

Motorola Droid Bionic Release Date

The official Droid Bionic account confirms September 8th Launch.

This is from the official Droid Bionic Twitter account, so you can take it to that bank, or more likely your local Verizon store, where you will be able to purchase the Droid Bionic and all the accessories you want on September 8th. There will be no preorders for the device according to a followup tweet.

Verizon is still mum on the official pricing of the Motorola Droid Bionic, but based on past information, and a leaked Costco ad, we expect that the Bionic will cost $299 on a two-year contract direct form Verizon. If you can hold off, you may be able to score a deal on the Bionic from Wirefly. If you are a Costco member, and want accessories their Droid  Bionic bundle looks like a great deal.

We’ve been pestering our Verizon contacts for a review device, so hopefully we’ll have more to share on one of the most anticipated Android devices soon.

Until then, check out this Motorola Droid Bionic teaser video;

      As much as I want this to be true, I’m very skeptical of this Twitter account. It doesn’t seem official to me. At all.
