The next iPhone is expected to arrive in just a few short weeks, and it may mark the first time you can buy a 64GB iPhone.
The current iPhone 4 is available with 16GB or 32GB of storage, priced at $199 and $299 respectively.
Mr. X, tells 9to5Mac, that the new iPhone will come in 16GB, 32Gb and 64Gb varieties. This may be the iPhone 5, or it could be the rumored iPhone 4S. It is likely that Apple will introduce an 8GB iPhone 4 at the event as well.
If Apple does deliver the higher capacity, the iPhone would be in line with the iPad in sizing, and many users will appreciate the extra storage. This isn’t the first time we have heard about a 64GB iPhone.
The Price of the iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S will likely be as follows.
- iPhone 4 – 8GB – $99
- iPhone 5 – 16GB – $199
- iPhone 5 – 32GB – $299
- iPhone 5 – 64GB – $399
This gives Apple a wide range of device prices, both higher and lower than many of the current hot selling Android smartphones.
It is interesting to hear that there will be a larger capacity iPhone this year, the same time that Apple is launching iCloud. iCloud is a service that keeps your data like photos, in the cloud so that you don’t need to keep all of them on your phone.

No doubt there are many places where local storage beats out streaming, but the timing is a bit odd.
