Motorola and Verizon have finally decided to announce the official release date of the Motorola Droid 4, giving it the expected $199 price tag along with a February 10th release date. Also expected. In addition, the carrier is going to be offering a couple of deals that will kick-off the same day as the Droid 4 launch. The first, is a BOGO or buy-one-get-one offer for the original Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX and the second, and this is fantastic, is the reintroduction of the double 4G LTE data plans.
Let’s start with the deal on the Droid RAZRs.
Verizon is going to be offering both the Droid RAZR and Droid RAZR MAXX up for a buy-one-get-one free deal. We came away impressed with both of the phones, the Droid RAZR MAXX in particular, which means this is a fantastic offer to consider if you’re a new customer, someone looking to upgrade or somebody that is looking to get a phone and also get one for a family member.
A fairly crazy offer from Verizon considering how new the Droid RAZR MAXX is.
Now to the data plans.
From November until January, Verizon offered up double 4G LTE data plans for customers that, at the very least, bought a $30 data plan. It has now brought those back to coincide with the launch of the Droid 4. So, if you waltz into a Verizon store on Friday and are going to be signing or renewing a contract, here is what you’ll be offered:
- Current: 2GB/mo for $30 After Promo: 4GB/mo for $30
- Current: 5GB/mo for $50 After Promo: 10GB/mo for $50
- Current: 10GB/mo for $80 After Promo: 20GB/mo for $80
Not bad at all, right?
We have no idea how long either of these promotions will last, we’re going to assume that they won’t last for too long, so it may be in your best interest to head down to your local store on Friday and, at the very least, make an inquiry.
Also, Verizon will be offering $100 off a 4G LTE tablet with the purchase of a new phone and a two year agreement and will also be giving feature phone owners who wish to trade-in their phone a $30 gift card.
