Today is launch day for the Motorola Droid 4, a device that we awarded our Best Smartphone of CES 2012 award, and if you head over to Verizon’s website right now, you can snag it for $199.99 on-contract. Not a bad price. However, if you’re looking to save some cash and you’re a new customer signing a new contract, you can head over to Amazon and grab it for a mere $99.99.
Again, that price is for a 4G LTE device that launches today.
Those of you looking to upgrade, you’ll also be treated to a discount at Amazon. The retailer is currently offering the Droid 4 to upgraders for a mere $149. And while $50 isn’t as good as $100, it’s certainly a decent discount.
We’ve had a Droid 4 in our possession for a couple of days now and we’ve come away extremely impressed with Verizon’s latest addition to the Droid series.
Before you buy, you’re going to want to check out:

We’ll also have a full review up later on today so be sure to check back in.
In addition, we’ve done some comparisons between the Droid 4 and other devices that Verizon is offering. They include:
The Droid 4 is Verizon’s third successor to the original Motorola Droid and it may just be the best one yet. From the laser cut keyboard which is likely the best keyboard you’ve ever used to its high-resolution display to its 4G LTE speeds, the Droid 4 is an extremely capable device.
And at that $100 price point, it’s certainly worth your attention.
