Last year Fisher-Price made the iPhone safe for the toddler set with the Laugh & Learn Apptivity Case that gave children as young as 6 months a safe way to interact with mom or dad’s phone while also keeping them from destroying said device.
The case was such a hit that the company is expanding the line to include cases more suited for kids 3 and up, an interactive Monkey play pal, and one that fits the iPad. No longer will you have to worry about passing your precious tablet to your child and getting it back in less than pristine condition.
The Laugh & Learn Apptivity Case for iPad fits both the iPad 1 and 2 and likely the iPad 3 when it’s out. Designed in partnership with OtterBox, the case completely encapsulates the tablet and blocks the Home button so you don’t have to worry about kids accidentally leaving the app you’ve loaded for them. You won’t have to worry about drool, sippy cup spills, or minor drops.
On the back there are two flip down rockers that add movement to some games. Flip just one down to create a stand/easel.The free Fisher-Price apps for babies and toddlers utilize movement, sound and color to keep children entertained and grow their brains.

The iPad case will cost $34.99 when it comes out in July.
Last year’s Apptivity case worked for kids of all ages but definitely had a crib-toy look. For kids a bit older there’s the Kid-Tough Apptivity Case. It offers the same protection for the iPhone and iPod touch from liquids and drops. Parents can slide the device in one way to make the Home button inaccessible or flip it around to allow kids to return to Home and choose another game or activity.
The case is compatible with all iPhones and 1st through 4th generation iPod touches. It will cost $14.99 and is also available in July.
As much as kids and babies love electronics, they also need something to cuddle. Unlike parents, they do not find the iPhone huggable. The Laugh & Learn Apptivity Monkey is, though.
This plush toy will keep an iPhone or iPod touch safe as well, but this little guy comes with an app specially designed for him. Children as young as 6 months can play interactive learning games by squeezing the monkey’s hands or feet, which triggers reactions in the app. It’s a fun way to learn about colors, letters and numbers.
When you need your iPhone for, I don’t know, phone calls or whatever, the monkey won’t just go silent. He sings songs and talks even without a device to power him.
Apptivity Monkey is compatible with all iPhones and the 3rd and 4th gen iPod touch. He will be out in July as well and cost $29.99.
