HTC One X Pre-Orders Begin at Best Buy

Published

on

Yesterday, as expected, HTC announced its new line of smartphones called the One series. The lineup includes the HTC One X,  HTC One S, and the HTC One V. Well, one of those phones, the HTC One X for AT&T, has apparently gone up for pre-order as Android-Life has snagged an image of a document that says that Best Buy is now taking pre-orders ahead of its April launch date.

Of course, as the retailer notes, pricing and a release date are still a complete mystery. Again, we know it will be shipping in April, but we likely won’t know when until sometime in March.

So, if you waltz into a Best Buy to place your order, know that you’re going to be doing it blindly. And, of course, there is always a chance that the launch could be pushed back beyond its target date.

We don’t blame people for wanting to put an order down for this phone though. We were able to go hands-on with it earlier today and we came away very impressed by what we saw.

HTC has promised better phones for 2012 and the HTC One X appears to be a step in that direction.

Now, keep in mind, the AT&T model is not going to be the quad-core model that was shown off yesterday at the Mobile World Congress. Instead of a Tegra 3 quad-core processor, the HTC One X for AT&T will sport a dual-core Snapdragon processor.

The reason for that is because NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 chip doesn’t yet support 4G LTE and AT&T apparently wanted this device on its 4G LTE network.

To get a better sense of the phone, you can see the HTC One X for AT&T in action in the video below:

So, for those interested, head on in to your nearest Best Buy and ask them about a pre-order for the HTC One X. You may just walk out the owner of a new smartphone.
