Samsung Galaxy S III Key Features Leak Out

Published

on

The details surrounding the upcoming  Samsung Galaxy S III seem to be becoming more and more clear as another leak has outed some of the more intriguing specifications on the upcoming smartphone. It appears that, among other things, the Galaxy S III will be arriving with a massive HD display, a speedy quad-core processor, and 4G LTE capabilities.

Now, we had heard before that the device would be rocking a quad-core processor and a high-resolution display, but this is the first time we’ve heard about specifics.

BGR is reporting that the Galaxy S III is going to be toting a massive 4.8-inch display complete with full HD 1080p resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio. If true, that’s a pretty impressive display and it would cater to those that want a massive screen with their smartphone.

To compare, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has a 4.65-inch display.

In addition, the Galaxy S III is rumored to include an extremely fast 1.5GHz quad-core Samsung Exynos processor which should be able to handle just about anything thrown at it, a 2MP front-facing camera, an 8MP rear camera, a ceramic case, 4G LTE capabilities – which means data speeds that can be 10 times faster than those found on normal 3G, and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

As you can see, the Galaxy S III – at least in its rumored state, is shaping up to be quite the Android smartphone. Not surprising, considering the shoes it has to fill.

The Samsung Galaxy S II, the previous version in the Galaxy series, has been bought over 20 million times since its launch last year. Clearly, Samsung is going to want to build on that success, especially with an iPhone 5 looming in the fall, and it appears that these are the specs that it thinks will get the job done.

What do you think?
