Angry Birds Space Now Available for iOS and Android

Adam Mills —  03/22/2012

Today is March 22nd and that means that Angry Birds Space is now available on a slew of platforms including Apple’s iOS, Google’s Android, and both OS X and Windows. This isĀ  Rovio’s latest installment of the iconic Angry Birds franchise and it may just be their most ambitious to date as the Angry Birds have headed for planets that feature differing gravity.

Those who are familiar with the original Angry Birds games will still find the same game play format. Shoot a bird out of a slingshot in an attempt to snuff out the evil green pigs who have stolen their eggs via a giant claw.

Only this time there are levels that have zero gravity which means birds will be flying about in slow motion and at lightspeed.

There are also 60 new levels, new birds, the usual hidden bonus levels, and the awesome game play that many have come to expect from the series.

You can check out the new stuff in the video below:

The application is available for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad on iOS. Those interested can find it on the iOS App Store.

Those on Android will be able to snag it through both the Amazon App Store and through the usual Android market, the Google Play Store. (Still weird saying that.)

Rovio hasn’t said whether the game will make it to other operating systems like BlackBerry or Windows Phone so for now, those of you on those operating systems are just going to have to cross your fingers and wait.
